About Tulum

Tulum Ruins

When you contemplate your trip to Tulúm, consider whether you prefer to be nestled in the jungle or pamper yourself at the beachfront. Our school home base is conveniently located close to local cenotes on the southern end of town.

The heart of Tulum town runs along the highway straight from Cancun (CUN airport is a 90mn drive away) and is bustling with art, food and enterprise.

As you enter the township of Tulum you will notice the entrance to the only seafront ruins in México, historically a hub as a port city for the Mayans.

Tulum town has the charm of old Mexico, with merely three traffic lights in total, and the first of those will lead you down the road towards the beach (the town and beach are not the exact same thing) and further still to the biosphere nature reserve of Sian Ka’an. These are priceless beauties of a dream Caribbean vacation with crystal waters and soft warm white sand.

For the budget conscious, there are hostel options all through the town. Those who prefer to rent a private space can find a wealth of options on airbnb.com with all of their caprices or requirements. If staying close to the school is in priority try searching for suburbs Tumbenkaa or La Valeta. Most accommodations in Tulum town would be a bike ride away.
Those staying in the beach consider taxi.

”La Luz”, Tulum Beach area

The beachfront is developed with unique and artistic architecture, a triumph of human design. Further still in the biosphere, you can find untouched beaches and virgin rugged beauty.

If you venture your stay in the other extreme of town, a two minute walk from Cenote Freediving, you will find Hotel Bardo: the balance between distinctive design, luxury and modern living. Bardo is isolated and hidden in plain sight, offering a intimate experience of transformation. According to Tibetan Buddhism, Bardo is what follows after death and before reincarnation where the soul reconnects to the universal essence. Your stay in private villa there is designed to nurture a profound reflection and opportunity for transformation.

If you explore to the other side of the town avenue, you can find the gem of Holistika snuggled in the jungles, designed to be your oasis of the city, come and explore how the construction respects and incorporates itself amongst the forest.

Eat outdoors under a canopies of trees at their plant based restaurant, or stay at their private rooms or luxurious shared dormitory. A perfect place to relax and self retreat after a training session or day of exploring.

The area of Tulúm is a beautiful and relaxed natural place to base yourself and venture from there on various excursions to the surrounding riches of the peninsula. Here you will be well located to reach slightly further cenotes, lagoons and ruins and in fact is a perfect base for your travels within Mexico and Central America.
